What Why How We Eat: Growing the Ravens Roost Cohousing Community Meal Program

      11/29/2019

6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29What Why How We Eat exhibition

Ever wondered what successes and challenges exist in developing a healthy and sustainable meal program for fifty people? Join members of Ravens Roost, Anchorage’s only Cohousing Community, as they discuss meal preparation, considering reduction of non-recyclable materials and non-local ingredients, and using plants grown on site. Located in South Anchorage, Ravens Roost is a 6 plus acre property and is jointly owned by all members, with each family owning and maintaining their own home within the community. Shared spaces include a kitchen and dining area, library, playroom, laundry, wood shop, sewing, craft, exercise areas as well as an area set aside for bicycle and ski maintenance. Of special importance are the garden areas, with a prime focus on edible landscaping.
